Upgrade subscription on cart drawer

The merchant would like to add a feature to the cart drawer that allows customers to upgrade their subscription in order to receive a discount. Additionally, when customers choose a one-time purchase, they should have the option to upgrade to a subscription and unlock a discount in the cart drawer.

Yes. Specifically, you would have a little button next to each item, in the Cart Drawer (and the Cart Page) that says "upgrade to subscription", and perhaps have a drop-down list to select the subscription plan/period.
You can also have a tooltip icon explaining the discounts or other policies.
Other subscriptions app, notoriously ReCharge, do this already.
